The photo is of a train bridge over the river (or rather a tight shot of the trusses from an angled position). It is a bridge located near the Goldeyes baseball park in downtown Winnipeg.
My desire with the photo is promote the complexity of the trusses without distracting the viewer with “scenery” (i.e. sky colour, etc). So, I adjusted the photo to push out a lot of contrasting areas, and simply promote the ideas of the complexity of the lines of the trusses of the bridge.
Geometry Of A Train Bridge (big version available in the gallery):

While I appreciate this photo, I feel that you washed out the colouring of the trusses and joists a little too much. It lacks the normal colour and feeling that your photos usually have. It seems to be something that I should be using more for a desktop image than anyhing else. I think it would be better if you brought back a little of the colour, there are some tools in photoshop that will allow the colour of the bridge back in while leaving the background colour out so that it does not ditract the eye.

Heya Dar Dar
You aren’t the only one to make suggestions along those lines regarding this image.
I have gone back and looked at the image several times since I made it, and every time I come to the same conclusion – this is the way it should be for what I am doing in this manipulation.
In a way your comment about using it as your wallpaper on your computer isn’t such a bad way to put some perspective on this image. Note that I don’t say photo very much with this “Photo Of The Day”. I have manipulated it so far out of reality that it is a abstract in my eyes. I think I should have added that to the title, and maybe people wouldn’t react as strongly – who knows? But it is good that people are at least talking about the image!
Thanks for finally checking out my site bro!
