Post Workout Update

Went running at the indoor track at the Wellness Institute tonight. It’s the first workout I have had in almost a week, and to be honest, I have been feeling really shitty about not working out more, so it was a welcome change to be working out again.

I did 30 minutes on the track, but I know for sure my lack of working out is impacting my cardio. I caught myself clock-watching at the 15 minute mark which is not good. I kept going and pushed through for the full 30 minutes.

My left quad was tight at the end, but I did extra stretches which helped. My knee felt slightly (very slightly) strained, but nothing bad. I will use the ellipticals for a few days instead of the track (the implication of course being that I will be going more frequently again).

I get paid Wednesday (tomorrow), so I am going to set aside $26 [$13/class] to be able to go back to Bikram Yoga once per week (well, maybe I’ll bite the bullet and set aside $52 and go twice a week, but money is tight, so we will have to see on that one – and at that much bi-weekly, a monthly pass is $128, so I’d have to take the plunge ;) ). I have been noticing a loss in flexibility and strength since I stopped the yoga due to injury. I’ll try to remedy that with 1-2 classes per week. I’m still annoyed I had to drop out of the Bikram Challenge because of injury.

So, to combat my laziness with exercising after work, I am going to start going in the mornings again like I used to, and start the day with a nice energy rush from working out!
